Biopesticides: The Regulatory Challenge
31st October 2007, Warwick HRI
Biopesticides are pest management tools that are based on beneficial micro organisms,
nematodes or other biologically-based active ingredients which contribute to the
sustainable crop protection of plants. Biopesticides can be highly valuable components of
Integrated Pest Management.

Problems with natural resistance and the withdrawal of products mean fewer chemical
pesticides are available on the market for crop protection.
This meeting will present findings from an interdisciplinary research project at Warwick
University on the environmental and regulatory sustainability of biopesticides as
alternatives to chemical pesticides in the food chain.
Sponsored by RELU and AgraQuest, this meeting will be held at Warwick HRI, The
University of Warwick, Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, CV35 9EF
