If you would like to attend the next meeting (which begins with a buffet lunch), please email researcherqueries@warwick.ac.uk http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/ldc/researchers Digital Tools for Researchers Impact Resource Bank FOCUS ON: SUPPORT FOR RESEARCHERS Warwick Women in Science (WIS), aided by Research Staff Network funding from LDC, have launched a series of regular network events designed to encourage conversation around the core WIS themes: To encourage LEADERSHIP To enable COLLABORATION To provide INSPIRATION to everyone at Warwick The next seasonal WIS event is being held on 8 December 2014 from 11.00am—1.00pm and addresses Imposter Syndrome, a topic frequently raised as a challenge in feedback from members of the network. Members of the Warwick community are welcome to attend but places are limited to 15 (allocated on a first come first served basis) to encourage discussion and strategy development. For further information on this event or the network please visit: http://www.warwick.ac.uk/womeninscience Social Sciences Impact Resource Bank Digital Tools for Researchers will be launched on 12 January 2015. This free, online-only course is aimed primarily at research students and early career researchers and will introduce a variety of essential online resources to enhance how you conduct, manage and communicate your research. To complete the course participants are required to take three core modules (online identity, networking and web publishing) plus two optional modules on a range of topics. The course will use ‘open badges’ as a form of digital certification to recognise your achievement. People are encouraged to contribute useful ideas and content to the bank, plus feedback and suggestions on the site are welcome. Considerations for academic teaching from Jonathan Heron, IATL. 29 January 2015, 2-4pm: Outreach and Schools Engagement. Widening participation/engaging with a non-academic audience, from Nick Barker in Chemistry. These sessions are held in the IAS Seminar Room, first floor Milburn House. Five applications have already been approved, with £7,000 of the total budget of £13,000 still available.
