02/14/00 Cruise Activity Request (CAR) Form Revised for UVIS 02/14/00 Observation Name: UVIS Icy Satellite Orbit Determination, Exospheres Submitted By: C. J. Hansen, 15 November 2000 Measurement Objective: Observe distant stellar occultations to detect the precise position of the satellites; distended exospheres Scientific Objective: Overall dynamics of Saturn satellite system and possibly masses; magnetospheric processes Activity Description: Target to star and warm up HSP; observe ingress and egress of star Activity Start Time : (at least provide an activity window) See attached Activity Duration: (per iteration) See attached Number Of Iterations: See attached Interval Between Iterations: Not applicable Target : (for example: Titan) Enceladus, Tethys and Dione Pointing: (feature or position on target, slit orientation, module used…) Target to star Estimated Data Volume: (in Mbits) 32 kbps * duration Instrument Set Up: (use ODC’s from ODH or suggest alternative setup) HSP, 2 msec integration Notes: (any special characteristics, or requirements that go beyond the above information) 02/14/00 Observation Name – Science is working on an observation naming convention. It’s not quite ready yet. So use a name that makes sense for the observation. We will switch to science-approved names later on. Activity Start Time – The time at which the activity should begin. If not known, provide a time window. Activity Duration – The duration of one instance of the activity. Number of Iterations – The number of instances of the activity. Interval Between Iterations – The time between the start of one iteration of the activity. Pointing – The simplified general pointing profile for the activity. Indicate the module (GENMOS_AB for example) that should be used to implement the pointing. In addition, when possible, attach CASPER screen dumps and/or CASPER RWF files.
