Q1. When do the notes of a PNWCG Steering Committee meeting appear on the web
site?
A1. Shortly after the meeting of the following month when they are approved by the
Steering Committee
Q2. How do I find out what happened at a PNWCG Steering Committee meeting
before the notes come out?
A2. Talk to your WT’s Steering Committee Liaision
Q3. What does the SC use Task Orders for?
A3. To direct significant work where a written product needed.
Q4. How to I get the Steering Committee to approve and process a Task Order?
A4. Propose it to the SC thru your SC liaision. Once the Chair has approved it the
Executive Director will format it and send it to the Chair of the WT(s) and/or TG’s(s)
involved with a copy to all SC members.
Q5. How do I get the Steering Committee to approve and process a letter?
A5. Propose the letter thru your SC liaision. The SC will approve the content and the
Executive Director will format it and send it to the SC for a 72 hour review. Once the
review is complete the Executive Director will make final edits and send it to the Chair
for final approval. Once approved the Executive Director will send it to the addressees
with copies to the Steering Committee and to the original author.
Q6. How do I get document posted to the PNWCG SC web site?
A6. Send it to the PNWCG notetaker
Q7. When are Steering Committee Meetings held?
A7. Normally the 3rd Wednesday of the each month at NWCC
Q8. What is PNWCG all about?
A7. See the PNWCG Charter of May 2008 for a full explanation of what PNWCG is
and how its work is done.
Q9. Whats a big T and a little t and which is more important?
A9. PNWCG operates under the principle that Work Teams, and Task Groups are self
directed within the scope of their charter. Big T’s are those formal tasking from the
Steering Committee to a WT or TG specifiying a task to be done with an accompanying
due date. Little t’s are those self directed tasks undertaken by a WT within the scope of
their Charter. A task being a big T or a little t has nothing to do with its relative
importance.
