KPVU Welcome Mr. Ernest Jackson Jr.! He has been named the General Manager for KPVU-91.3FM at Prairie View A&M University. Mr. Jackson is a twenty-six year veteran broadcaster, having served as Vice President & General Manager in seven different cities during his career. From 1992 until 2001 Mr. Jackson served as Vice President & General Manager of Majic 102 and 97.9 The Boxx in Houston, Texas. During his career, Mr. Jackson received hundreds of awards and commendations, including being named as one of the top twenty-five African-Americans in broadcasting by Radio Ink in 2001. In addition to his broadcast career Mr. Jackson served as Executive Director of Project Wave Inc., a non-profit organization he founded in 2002. Project Wave Inc. collaborated with radio stations in fifteen cities to get African-American and Hispanic men and women tested for the HIV virus. Project Wave Inc. tested over 81,000 people in its “testing for tickets” program from 2002 through 2007. Mr. Jackson is also a landscape photographer, having won several awards for his outdoor/nature photography work.
