Product datasheet Anti-KIF5B antibody [KN-03] ab11883 1 Abreviews 1 Image Overview Product name Anti-KIF5B antibody [KN-03] Description Mouse monoclonal [KN-03] to KIF5B Specificity The antibody reacts with heavy chain of conventional kinesin associated with vesicles and with lower affinity with denaturated molecule. The antibody recognizes kinesin bound to taxolstabilized microtubules. Tested applications ICC/IF, ICC Species reactivity Reacts with: Mouse, Rat, Human, Pig Immunogen Enriched fraction of porcine brain kinesin. Epitope Epitope mapping has revealed that antibodies ab11882 and ab11883 react with different sets of fragments. Properties Form Liquid Storage instructions Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles. Clonality Monoclonal Clone number KN-03 Isotype IgM Applications Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab11883 in the following tested applications. The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Application Abreviews Notes ICC/IF ICC Application notes ICC: Use at an assay dependent dilution. 1 Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Target Function Microtubule-dependent motor required for normal distribution of mitochondria and lysosomes. Sequence similarities Belongs to the TRAFAC class myosin-kinesin ATPase superfamily. Kinesin family. Kinesin subfamily. Contains 1 kinesin motor domain. Domain Composed of three structural domains: a large globular N-terminal domain which is responsible for the motor activity of kinesin (it hydrolyzes ATP and binds microtubule), a central alpha-helical coiled coil domain that mediates the heavy chain dimerization; and a small globular C-terminal domain which interacts with other proteins (such as the kinesin light chains), vesicles and membranous organelles. Cellular localization Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Uniformly distributed between soma and neurites in hippocampal neurons. Anti-KIF5B antibody [KN-03] images ab11883 staining rat neuronal stem cells by ICC/IF. Cells were PFA fixed and permeabilized in 0.5% Saponin, prior to blocking with 10% serum for 1 hour at 21°C. The primary antibody was diluted 1/500 with PBS + 1% FCS and incubated with the sample for 18 hours at 4°C. A Cy5® conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG antibody was used as the secondary.
