CRITICAL ANALYSIS & REASONING SKILLS
PRACTICE TEST
As indicated during the “Overview of the MCAT, DAT and Other Entrance
Exams” workshop, it is imperative that students begin cultivating their reading
comprehension and critical reasoning skills NOW in preparation to perform
competitively on exams that are required for medical, dental, and other health
profession schools.
If you were to take the “verbal reasoning/reading comprehension” portion of
the MCAT, DAT, etc. TODAY, how would you score???
Follow these instructions to take the sample Critical Analysis & Reasoning
Skills test, complete the information below, and submit this worksheet to the
PM Office NO LATER THAN MONDAY, 9/21/15.

Locate a computer with a reliable Internet connection that you can use UNINTERRUPTED.
Go to http://www.kaptest.com/mcat/mcat-test/the-new-mcat-2015 and click the link for the “Free MCAT
2015 practice test.”
After the practice test is placed in your cart, click “Proceed to checkout,” noting that you are NOT being
charged to access this free test.
Follow the checkout instructions; upon completion of this process, you should receive an email confirming
that you now have access to the practice test.
Follow the instructions in the email to access your Kaplan account; once in your account, click on the
“MCAT Mini Test” link that should appear under “My Courses” (if you successfully completed the
checkout process).
Begin the MCAT Mini Test (the test is timed). NOTE: Complete only the CRITICAL ANALYSIS &
REASONING SKILLS section of the practice test, as you have NOT yet completed all of the courses
required to complete the other three (3) sections.
Skip all of the “Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems” questions by clicking “NEXT”
until you reach the end of the section. Once you’ve reached the end of this section, click “END” to move
to the next section of the practice test.
Complete the “Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills” section [answer all eighteen (18) questions]. NOTE:
You may want to write your answers down on paper and keep a copy JUST IN CASE ONLINE TEST
SUBMISSION FAILS and you need to retake.
Upon completion of the “Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills” section, you should skip all of the questions
in the remaining two (2) sections by clicking “NEXT”; at the end of each section, click “END.”
Once you reach the end of the final test section and you click “END,” indicate that you would like to
“SUBMIT” the test.
Your results will then be displayed; to determine how many questions you answered correctly on the
“Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills” section, click “GO” next to that section on the results page.
Count the number of correct responses for this section, record that number BELOW, and put this sheet in
the “IN” basket located on the reception desk in the PM Office (NCF 108) no later than MONDAY,
9/21/15.
