Xavier Cup Innovation Challenge Registration Form Instructions & Guidelines Complete this form and email it to xulabusiness@gmail.com by October 1, 2014 to enter the Xavier Cup Innovation Challenge. XCIC is open to all Xavier University of Louisiana’s clubs in good standing with the SGA and their participating students. Only the club leader can complete this form, no other members of the team need to submit a different form. The club leader is responsible for communicating with Xavier’s Business Entrepreneurship Institute and the club. Prizes: Winners in three categories will be selected. A team may win in only one category. Most Profitable Concept - $750 Most Creative Concept - $750 Social Media Master - $500 Eligibility: Open to all XU clubs that are in good standing with the SGA. One submission per club, and at least three club members must participate. Clubs must complete the registration form. Entry Rules & Guidelines: Step 1 Register by 10/1/2014 by 11:59pm. Step 2 Discover the mystery object and pick it up on 10/2/2014 between 9:00am and 4:30pm in XS Room 325 Step 3 Sell your product or service and produce a 1 to 2 minute video that documents how your club is using the mystery object to make money. The video should include: 1) State the club name. 2) Describe the product or service. 1 3) Include a combination of verbal and visual explanation of how the mystery item is used to create value (i.e. How is it used to make money.) 4) The maximum length of the video is 2 minutes. It will be disqualified if it is longer. Upload the video to Youtube. (Refer to Youtube Guidelines) Video submissions will be viewed and scored by a judging panel. Step 4 Submit a Challenge completion form and provide income and operational costs. Step 5 On 11/3/14, each club’s video link will be uploaded to the Innovation Cup Facebook wall. Clubs should encourage others to like their video link on the Innovation Cup wall by 11:59pm on 11/8/14. Most Profitable Concept To have the Most Profitable Concept, the idea must generate the most profit illustrated in the operational costs. The club’s idea that generates the most profit will receive the Most Profitable Concept. Most Creative Concept To have the Most Creative Concept, the criteria is one must be imaginative with the use of the mystery object. The club with the most creative idea will receive the Most Creative Concept. Social Media Master To be the Social Media Master, your link must obtain the most “likes” on the Xavier Cup Innovation Challenge Facebook Wall. Likes on Youtube will not be counted. The club with the most likes will be named the Social Media Master. Youtube Guidelines Videos must be less than 2GB. Set the privacy settings to “Public.” This will enable viewers to view your club’s video submission. Every effort will be made to preserve the confidentiality of the owners of each submission, it is suggested that highly sensitive material be excluded from the video entry if club members are concerned about the confidentiality of their submission. Technical drawings and formulas need not to be included in the video. Understand that the final presentation may be conducted to an open audience. Xavier University of Louisiana and the Entrepreneurship Institute organizers cannot take further responsibility to protect intellectual property or rights of the competitors. Protection of such rights and intellectual property is the responsibility of each competitor.
