ROLE OF NURSING UNIT IN HEALTH SERVICES Health Services known as Nursing Division, provide services to the Community through many types of programs , screenings,clinies , home visits and education . -Clinic services -Home health care program -Maternal child health services -Communicable Diseases program -Health education services ---Family health clinic ROLE OF NURSING -Adviser -Consultant Preventer of -illness -Promoter of health -Educator -Researcher -Leader Adviser : she develops a good rapport with the family and people in community and advises them how to handle the problematic situation that relates to health in a proper way . -Advocate : She acts as ab advocate in relation to primary health care and she encourages and supports people to take right decision in maintaining their health and protects patient’s and individual’s rights in relation to health care . -Preventor of illness : One of the principles of primary health care is “focus on prevention “ the primary health care nurse practies disease prevention in such immunisation clinics organizing “pulse polio “ immunisation mass campaigns , acting as an epidemiologist during an epidemics counselling on nutrition and other disease prevention and many more disease control and eradication programmes . -those less than 18 years of age need a prevent /legal guardian present at visit . -Breast exams , breast self-exam instruction and referrals -Counseling is provided for all family health services All scheduled childhood vaccines are available -All home care cases start with a skilled nursing assessment -Registered nurses maintain the vital link between client and physician -Registered nursing co-ordinate the total home care team . Services include an array of programs with the emphasis on improving the health and birth outcomes of low income and Medicaid eligible women, infants and children of the county, programs include , women infants and children (WIC) program , care ,management services , clinic services , pregnancy testing and women’s care health care …All services are strongly focused on educating CLINICAL SERVICES -Family Health :-examination for women , pregnancy testing ,STD testing for men and women , family planning -Well child :- physical exam , development screening refrrals , immunization lead screening and testing -Immunization :-provides scheduled vaccines for child beginning at six weeks of age through 18 years old for uninursed ,medical/all kids recipients and those with insurance that does not cover immunization
