Please take the time to read the information below, as it may include changes to your student financial aid. We will continue to send newsletters as important information becomes available. Reminder Verification Students who were selected for verification for the 20142015 academic year, must submit all requested document(s) by March 16, 2015. If all document(s) are not in on or by the above mention date, your file will be CLOSED! Therefore, you will be responsible for any outstanding balance on your account. Summer School Application Summer School application will be available online and in the office beginning March 16, 2015. To ensure that your summer award is processed prior to summer registration, you must submit your Summer Financial Aid request form for review by the priority submission date of April 1, 2015. Xavier Academic Scholarships In order to retain the Xavier Academic Scholarship, students must complete the Spring Semester with a 3.3 cumulative grade point average. These Scholarships include the: Board of Trustee Scholarship President’s Scholarship St. Katharine Drexel Scholarship Norman C. Francis Scholarship XU Academic Scholarship Students with a cumulative grade point average between a 3.20 and 3.29 will be granted a probationary semester Students who fall below a 3.2 cumulative grade point average have lost the scholarship. The only prospect for reinstatement is to attend summer school here at Xavier and raise the cumulative grade point average to either the required 3.3 minimum or the probationary status 3.2. If you are graduating in May, you are required to complete online EXIT Counseling by going to www.studentloans.gov. If you have any questions, please visit us in the financial aid office or email Ms. Dickerson at zdickers@xula.edu. Learn important money management concepts such as identity theft, budgeting, how to use credit cards and borrowing responsibly! If so, the Community Service Work-Study program may be perfect for you! Please complete a Work-study Request Form indicating your interest for Community Service Work-Study at: http://www.xula.edu/financialaid/documents/FederalWorkStudyRequestFor m.pdf or contact the Work-Study Coordinator for additional information. You can find your remaining balance by viewing your account via Banner Web or visiting the Office of Fiscal Services in Xavier South Building-Room 300. Q: When will financial aid fund post to my account? A. Your financial aid will post to your account once the following steps have been completed * Accept and submit your award letter on Banner Web. * Complete the Entrance Counseling (if you have accepted a Student Loan) at www.studentloans.gov . Complete a Master Promissory Note (if you have accepted a loan) at www.studentloans.gov . Swipe your ID in all classes you attend. Q: Why hasn’t my scholarship posted? In order for your scholarship to post, you must complete the XU Scholarship Terms & Conditions Agreement. Q: Why can’t I use all of my scholarship money for one semester? Scholarship funds are split evenly between both semesters unless we are directed otherwise in writing by the donor of the scholarship. Q: How will I know if I’m not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress SAP? An email notification is sent to your XULA E-mail account at the end of the spring semester. Q: When will I be paid? A.All Work-Study students are paid once a month on the 15th of the following month after your have worked. A. Earned Work-Study funds are deposited to your personal account. You must complete a direct deposit form in the Human Resource Office before this can be done. Q: When are Timesheets due? A. Timesheets are due on the 3rd of the following month that you have worked. If timesheets are received on the 4 th and beyond, your funds will not be paid until the next pay cycle.
