1. Reimbursements
Stanley Chang motioned for the reimbursement of $105.42 to Shira
Halperin for social held on March 14 for the graduate student invited
speaker. Funds will be reimbursed from the Chemistry Caucus’ Core
Funds. Motion seconded by Alisa Paterson.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Shira Halperin).
o Motion passed.
Ryan Roberts motioned for the reimbursement of $11.20 to Reagan Belan
for gift for the graduate student invited speaker. Funds will be reimbursed
from the Chemistry Caucus’ Core Funds. Motion seconded by Shira
Halperin.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Reagan Belan).
o Motion passed.
Jarod Moore motioned for the reimbursement of $25.00 to Alisa Paterson
for the special occasion’s license for Games Night Social on March 16.
Funds will be reimbursed from the Chemistry Caucus’ cash box. Motion
seconded by Reagan Belan.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Alisa Paterson).
o Motion passed.
Reagan Belan motioned for the reimbursement of $50.97 to Stanley Chang
for snacks, fruit and veggie platters for Games Night Social on March 16.
Funds will be reimbursed from the Chemistry Caucus’ cash box. Motion
seconded by Ryan Roberts.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Stanley Chang).
o Motion passed.
Graeme Suppes motioned for the reimbursement of $126.51 to Reagan
Belan for prizes and food for Games Night Social on March 16. Funds
will be reimbursed from the Chemistry Caucus’ Core Funds. Motion
seconded by Danielle Wilson.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Reagan Belan).
o Motion passed.
Shira Halperin motioned for the reimbursement of $155.60 to Danielle
Wilson for alcohol for Games Night Social on March 16. Funds will be
reimbursed from the Chemistry Caucus’ Core Funds. Motion seconded by
Graeme Suppes.
o Votes: For = 7, Against = 0, Abstention = 1 (Danielle Wilson).
o Motion passed.
2. Fundraiser Idea
Alisa Paterson motioned to allow Chandra Lebovitz, an MBB graduate
student raising money for Ride to Conquer Cancer, to sell 50/50 tickets at
Chemistry’s Departmental Coffee this Friday, March 23. It is understood
that she has a proper gaming license for this fundraiser. Motion seconded
by Reagan Belan.
o Votes: For = 8, Against = 0.
o Motion passed.
3. Chemistry Building Grand Opening
The Grand Opening is set for Tuesday, April 17.
10 volunteers are needed:
o Time commitment is ~1.5 to 2 hours.
o 5 for leading tours around department.
o 5 for briefing in set spots throughout the building.
4. GSS/TSSU Social
There will be a joint GSS/TSSU social at the Surrey campus on March 28.
5. Caucus Office
Reagan will speak to the Department Chair about the Caucus’ own office
space, which was promised to us several months ago.
6. Board-Game Night Wrap-up
Michael has kindly agreed to return the empty bottles left from the BoardGame Night Social held on Friday, March 16.
7. Upcoming Socials
Paintball
o Tentatively set for a Thursday in early May (2-6 pm).
o Approximate cost per person will be $50. The Caucus needs to
consult with Brandy to figure out how much we can subsidize.
o Perhaps only the first 15 people to register will be subsidized.
8. Model Kits
Model kits will be ordered by Stan in early-mid April. The approximate
cost will be $1200.
