Knowledge, Awareness, and Prevention on Wheels Aisha Asby, PhD & Joe Dickson, PhD The Knowledge Awareness and Prevention on Wheels (KAPOW!) Project is the product of a partnership between Prairie View A&M University’s Department of Psychology and Change Happens! a community based organization serving the needs of individuals in the Texas Gulf Coast area. The target population(s) for The KAPOW! Project is students attending Prairie View A&M University in Waller County and residents in the surrounding area. The goals of the project are to inform participants of their HIV status and implement substance abuse and HIV prevention programs to reduce behaviors that put young adults at risk for HIV.
