April 11, 2014 2p.m. – 5p.m. Texas A&M International University, Laredo, Texas TXNAME is pleased to offer an afternoon workshop on teaching strategies designed to engage the diversity of our dynamic student population. Participants will explore, experience, and engage in hands-­‐on culturally responsive instructional tenets in the areas of reading, math, and science. The workshop highlights the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and the Texas College and Career Readiness Standards, in preparation for STAAR assessments in grades K-­‐12. The workshop will be based on TEA imperatives -­‐ data-­‐driven and student centered learning. Three CPU credits can be earned. A resource notebook will also be provided.
