After joining SQU, I made sincere efforts to conduct quality research and write research proposals to obtain grants and establish research facilities with a view to transfer the technology to educate Omani students and capacity building. My research has been recognized by SQU in 2011 with the Best Young Researcher Award from CAMS, SQU and the recipient of ‘Professionals from Developing Country’ Award from INSAR, USA in 2010. I was selected to participate in the Advanced School for Neurochemistry in Mexico from April 16 to 20, 2013 by International Society for Neurochemistry. I have won the Science of Art Photo Contest in ISN-ASN Biennial Meeting, Mexico, 2013. One of my published papers in 2012 got selected as Top 1 out of 20 papers published in the field of Oxidative stress. As a principal investigator, I have received research grants amounting to 209,000 OMR from the Research Council Oman (TRC) and IG from SQU. Besides, I am a co-investigator in four other projects which sums up to 212,500 OMR, which includes one His Majesty grant, one TRC grant, and two IGs. For the first time in SQU and the Sultanate, I have set up a core lab for animal behavior related with neurodegenerative diseases. I am the editor-in-chief of a scientific journal, academic editor for another international journal and member of editorial / reviewer board for 16 peer-reviewed international journals including PLOS one, eCAM, etc. I have international collaborations with Universities in Australia, USA, Japan and India.
