Annual Program Review Update *Be sure to include information from all three campuses. Program/Discipline: __Real Estate (RE)_________ Date: __Jan. 31, 2008________ Trends and Relevant Data 1. Has there been any change in the status of your program or area? (Have you shifted departments? Have new degrees or certificates been created by your program? Have you added or deleted courses? Have activities in other programs impacted your area or program? For example, a new nursing program could cause greater demand for life-science courses.) If not, skip to #2. Note: curricular changes should be addressed under 12-14. Certificates previously offered in Real Estate have been eliminated. The purpose/goal of students taking the Real Estate classes are fulfilling State of California requirements for taking the Real Estate License examination, continuing education for Real Estate professionals, and general knowledge for people with Real Estate investments or interested in Real Estate investing.. 2. Have there been any significant changes in enrollment, retention, success rates, or student demographics that impact your discipline? If so, please include data sheets (Excel or Word format) showing these changes. There have been no significant changes. In 2005 - 2006 the average class size for nine sections offered was 40.7. In 2006 – 2007 the average class size for six sections offered was 40.7. 3. Occupational programs must review the update of their labor-market data, some of it provided by Institutional Research, to illustrate that their program: a. Meets a documented labor market demand, b. Does not represent duplication of other training programs (in the region), and c. Is of demonstrated effectiveness as measured by the employment and completion success of its students. a. Labor-market demand is solely dependent on the state of the real estate market in general. When the market is good, demand for sales people and our classes are high, when sales are slow demand and enrollments are reduced. b. There are no other training programs either public or private in our region. c. There is no data available to quantify success of students. Only antidotal information that indicates students who prepare for the California Real Estate License exam at CR have a good success rate and those that do receive their license have little problem with job placement. 1 Other Resources 4. Do you have needs (professional development, library resources, and so forth) not previously required by the discipline or not previously addressed in budget or equipment considerations?
