Members Absent: Rachel Anderson, Toby Green, Ruth Rhodes, Sally Urban. 1. Call to Order: 3:41pm Discussion Items: 2. Assessment Committee Charter Update In “The Committee Membership” section, Erik Kramer will add “Members on the committee will general serve two year terms”. No further changes were suggested by the committee. Dave Bazard noticed the Assessment Handbook on the Assessment webpage is out of date with old forms and processes. He suggested the outdated information be removed or highlighted that the sections are under revision. Peter Blakemore suggested getting it cleaned up. Marla suggested that forms not be included in the handbook because forms change. Peter Blakemore, Erik Kramer, Shannon Sullivan and Cheryl Tucker will review the handbook over the weekend and send revisions to Clyde Johnson, who will updated the InDesign document. 3. Summer GE Assessment Dialogue Erik Kramer will be combining the summer General Education assessment pool with the Fall GE assessment pool. Angelina Hill asked if a website should be created that focuses on GE assessment. Erik Kramer would rather GE assessment go on the new form in the Assessment Reporting Tool and keep the old forms in the same place so everything is in one spot. Paul Chown said a page could be created that looks like the degree page but is just the GE reports. GE would still be listed with all the certificates and degrees and this information would populate the reporting tool. 4. Program Dialogue Form Erik Kramer stressed the importance of following the processes over ad hoc meetings when conducting assessment reporting. The discussion should be defined and the faculty should come prepared. Mapping will not go perfectly but it can be fixed at a future date. This reporting is another way to get a group of people working together and it will inform curriculum. The Accrediting body will see the College is engaged in assessment and is using findings to inform decisions. 5. Programs ready for PLO dialogue The Program Learning Outcomes discussion will be similar to the General Education discussion from Spring semester. Committee members identified programs that are ready for PLO assessment.  Shannon Sullivan ‐ Arts: Fine Arts.  Peter Blakemore ‐ Liberal Arts: Humanities and Communications.  Clyde Johnson ‐ Associate of Science, Digital Media  Erik Kramer and Dave Bazard ‐ Liberal Arts: Science and Liberal Arts: Science Exploration. 6. Institutional Dialogue out of Program Dialogue Dave Bazard said it is important to start Assessment Fridays again to get momentum going. He suggested there be smaller assessment meetings scheduled as well as a few larger meetings. There are also two other dialogues happening, in the district, “Writing Across the Curriculum” and “Math across the Curriculum”. Cheryl Tucker has reserved SS104 from 8:45 to 9:45 am, to use for Student Services Program Review and Plans; it is available for other assessment activities. Erik Kramer will develop a “To do list/cheat sheet” for the facilitators of the PLO discussions. 7. Meeting adjourned at 5:05 p.m. Next Meeting: TBA
