How can associate faculty lobby for the resources they need: space, storage, equipment? What is the most
effective process to ask for and get what we need? As only one example, the language classes could use a
dedicated space with computers, microphones, headphones in the LRC for students to hear and practice the
language online like a small language lab. I know we can alert full-time faculty to our needs, but is there a more
active role AF can take which would also lighten the full-timers' workload?

Person from the community who knows where the resources are for students who need support emotionally
(provide a mentor for encouraging and checking on them) or even housing, food, etc.. Some of our students have
challenges in their lives which set them back in their studies and I would like to be able to direct them to
community resources. For example, I have had homeless students and students who stop coming to classes
without an explanation. I have referred one this semester to the BIT team, but if faculty had a list of community
resources maybe we could help sooner.

We have a great institution, one which has served thousands of students and helped them achieve their career
and educational goals over the last fifty years. After overcoming some major obstacles the last five years we
must, through continued communication and consistent outreach, maintain a balanced environment which
equally supports students, staff, faculty, and administration.
