The Associate in Science in Agriculture Plant Science for Transfer Degree
emphasizes disciplines related to the management of soil, water, air, plant
resources, particularly pertaining to the agricultural industry. Students can
expect to gain an understanding of science-related topics such as tractor
operation, plant biology, propagation, crop and soil science, and often
humanities-related topics, such as communications, public relations, social
services, marketing and economics. This preparation includes the following
program learning outcomes:
1. Describe the importance of the agriculture industry to the local, state and
national economies.
2. Demonstrate proficiency using technologies as they relate to the agriculture
industry.
3. Apply best management practices to agriculture production scenarios.
