Specialization Bioinorganic Chemistry
Research Interest
My main research interest is in the general area of inorganic coordination chemistry, with
particular emphasis on biological applications. The main focus is on the synthesis and
characterization of metal complexes with biologically relevant ligands. Spectroscopic, and
crystallographic characterization is carried out with facilities both within Sultan Qaboos
University and through international collaborations.
Teaching Interest
My teaching experience includes descriptive inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry and
general chemistry. I have been particularly active at coordinating and upgrading the teaching
of the general chemistry.
Administrative duties
The office of the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies plays a central role in facilitating
student success and enhancing the quality of their learning by providing services that support
their academic and professional needs.
My current role as the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies is to oversee new student
admissions and orientation, college-level advising, curriculum development, time-tabling of
college courses, choice major selection, requirements for a choice of minor, review of degree
programs, and student grades/grade appeals.
