Social Networks is one of the courses that
have been recently added to the
department's map in order to meet labor
market requirements as well as to provide
the students with all the new knowledge in
the specialty. This course provides students
with an introduction to networking and
social networking. Types and methods of
social
networking.
A
variety
of
characteristics of the culture of networking,
networking and social relations. Topics
related to the establishment of a social
networking environment and building and
developing
private
or
professional
relationships. Description of social
networks and types and characteristics of
use and methods adapted to suit the
specialist information and how to use them
in the information centers and institutions.

3. COURSE AIM
The course aims to:
 Identify emerging culture of social networks and networking
• provide students with the skills of social networking and understanding of its
impact on communities
• provide students with the skills to use social networks successfully in social
interaction and networking
• define passive use of social networks
• define social networks and their use in libraries and information.

It is expected by the end of this course the student will be able to:
• Understand the culture of social networks,
• Use the acquired networking skills,
• Identify the negative use of social networks,

8. COURSE RULES
Attendance
Attendance at class is mandatory. Course Instructors should keep attendance records. An
"absentee warning notice" will be issued if a student is absent for:
• More than 10% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 5% in courses with 75 or more total contact hours.
An "absentee withdrawal notice" will be issued and the student will be deemed to have
withdrawn from the course with an 'FW' grade if a student is absent for:
• More than 20% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 15% in courses with 75 to 150 total contact hours.
• More than 10% of total contact hours for courses with more than 150 total
contact hours.
