What were you doing prior to starting your course at Warwick?
Adithya graduated from the National Academy for Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad
(NALSAR). He secured a Masters in Law in Development from the University of Warwick in
2005. As a consultant on law and governance issues in India he drafted sectoral legislations,
reports, fund raising documents, advocacy briefs and position papers. As a registered legal
practitioner, he practiced in the original (Writ Jurisdiction) and Appellate sides of the High
Court of Andhra Pradesh and the Supreme Court of India at New Delhi.
What does your current course involve?
Adithya’s research focuses on the institutional aspects of economic regulation from a
developing country perspective. He is exploring the relationship between the constitutional
mandate and the role of the regulator in addressing the issues pertaining to affordability and
access in the electricity sector.
What are your aspirations for the future?
He intends to continue as a consultant in the area of law and governance.
Adithya has been awarded the Chancellor’s International Scholarship by the University of
Warwick.
