ORDINANCE ON EMERITUS PROFESSORS 1. The Vice-Chancellor may confer the title Emeritus Professor on any Professor of the University after his/her retirement in recognition of distinguished services to the University. 2. An Emeritus Professor shall be a Member of the University. ARRANGEMENTS FOR EMERITUS PROFESSORS 1. Emeritus Professors shall be entitled to use the University facilities - for example, the Library, Computer and Sports Centre - as a Professor of the University. 2. Other arrangements may be made by the University, depending on individual circumstances, consistent with the aim of attempting to make available facilities for an Emeritus Professor to continue his/her academic work. 3. If a department wishes to invite an Emeritus Professor to undertake some teaching, such teaching would be paid for under the University’s normal arrangements governing part-time teaching.
