1. 
Describe yourself so that someone who doesn’t know you gets a good sense of who you are as a person.
Include information about your interests, skills, values, and/or personality.

Campus and Community Connections:
´  In this section, you, the student, will reflect on the campus and community experiences that have enhanced
your college learning. Such experiences might include undergraduate research, study abroad, service
learning, civic engagement, community service or other volunteerism, internships/ externships, campus
activities, and or student organizations. This may include your WTC & BTC activities that are part of MT
Engage courses.
´  Describe the (one such) campus/community experience. When and where did it occur? Why did the
experience take place? Who was involved? What did you do? What did others do?
´  What were the most important things you learned from this experience? In what ways did you increase your
knowledge of yourself as a person, a learner, and aspiring professional and/or a citizen?
´  Why is what you learned in this experience significant or important to you? How does what you learned from
this experience relate to your educational and career goals or your discipline? How does it relate to other
courses you are taking?
´  Did you use anything you learned in your prior coursework to help you in this experience or could you relate
anything you learned in your prior coursework to this experience? If so, describe an example. How will this
experience affect your future learning? How will what you learned be helpful in future classes or in future
situations?

Work/Academic Showcase:
This section consists of artifacts that were submitted as representative of students’ key learning experiences in MT Engage courses
and beyond. You, the student, should justify the inclusion of any artifact in this section by addressing the prompts that are
included below. Artifacts or work products included in the Work/Academic Showcase should be organized by general
education and program of study knowledge, skills, and abilities; choose 2-3 overarching knowledge, skills, and abilities
categories provided in the table below to organize entries. This section should have at least 6 entries with evidence (at least four
by the end of the sophomore year and two more at the upper division level by the end of the senior year)—with each entry
consisting of the following information:
1. 
Artifact/Work Example: Attach (or link) a course assignment, paper, project, creative piece, etc. which you judge to be
strong evidence of your learning. Be sure that what you include is something you are proud of and want others to view as
a representation of your best work.
2. 
Description: Provide a brief synopsis of the work “that includes the context and goals of the experience and a summary of
lessons learned.”
3. 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Gained: What general education skills, knowledge, or abilities were gained or demonstrated
through this work or experience OR what major-specific skills, knowledge, or abilities were gained or demonstrated through
this work or experience (see table)? How might having this skill, knowledge, or ability affect you or be useful to you in the
future? How could you apply this or use this in the future?

Integration: How does this experience relate to other experiences or knowledge you have gained in other classes in your
major? In other classes in general? To other experiences or knowledge you have gained outside the classroom?
