Call for Abstracts The Journal of Law, Social Justice & Global Development (LGD) is a peer-reviewed and open-source publication of the University of Warwick which publishes an issue every six months. It focuses on questions around development, human rights, governance, stratification/inequality and globalisation with a critical, social justice lens. The journal welcomes essays and papers from senior academics as well as early career researchers across the social sciences. Papers may be reflections on theory and/or method as well as discussions of research findings. Editors also welcome commentaries, reports on contemporary developments or recent conferences, case summaries and analyses, and book reviews. The journal is committed to diversity in disciplinary, theoretical and regional-cultural backgrounds and especially welcomes contributions from scholars and practitioners (e.g. teachers or activists) based in the global South and transitional economies. An example of past themes and topics include: gender and globalisation, domestic violence, migration and refugee rights, role and funding of NGOs, legal discourse around displacement, reproductive health, politics and ethics of public health, reports on tribunals and World Bank meetings, human trafficking, child labour, education and neoliberal economic globalisation. Our concern with inequalities and injustice in the context of globalisation and international development remain the guiding themes. Toward this end, we especially invite and encourage contributions from practitioners, including social workers, activists, teachers and doctors. Submissions should be about 500 words and may include reflections on experiences in the field (as a researcher or practitioner), ethical and methodological issues as well as emerging political concerns. The blog is also intended to generate and sustain dialogue across regions and across political and disciplinary concerns. Innovative presentation is also welcomed including vlogs (in which case 5-15 minutes would be a suitable length). Examples of topics and issues to be covered on the blog include, but are not limited to: education, health care, refugee crisis and migration, informal economies, neoliberal economics and culture, socioeconomic inequalities and cultural politics and marginalisation in local and global contexts. The blog is edited by the same team as the LGD journal, and is open to all. There are no restrictions on writing style. We expect to launch the blog by the end of January 2016. Inaugural entries may be submitted by Jan 11, 2016 to lgd@warwick.ac.uk. ***
