Bill 2-10-S A bill to amend Article IV, Section 1, Sub-Section C, Number 4 in the Constitution of the Student Government Association to raise the GPA requirement for the Executive Branch. Whereas: Members of the Student Government Association are representatives of Middle Tennessee State University and therefore should have a higher GPA above all students. Whereas: The Executive Branch officers are the official representatives of the Student Government Association and the student body. Whereas: Other universities within Tennessee have either the same or higher GPA requirements as the current 2.5 GPA required for executive members here at MTSU. THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 72ND CONGRESS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION AT MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY THAT: Section 1: Upon the passages of this new amendment, Article IV, Section 1, SubSection C, Number 4 will read as follows: Section 2: [Eligibility for executive branch officers] Have at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average at the time of candidacy and maintain such average throughout the term of office.
