Bill 10-09-F A bill to amend the Senate Bylaws in regard to Senator Hours. WHEREAS: When SGA Senators do not come to events they have signed up to work, the event suffers. WHEREAS: When SGA Senators do not inform an executive member of their planned absence in a reasonable amount of time, the event suffers. WHEREAS: Ongoing “no-show” senators show a lack of commitment to the Student Government Association. THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 72nd CONGRESS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF MTSU THAT: Section 1: A new section shall be created in Senate Bylaws to address this issue. Article VII. Section 2: Section 2 shall read: “Any senator who is signed up to work an event and does not give 24 hours notice by email of their absence will be deducted the amount of senate hours they were signed up to work unless they can find a replacement senator.” Section 3: Sub Section A of Section 3 shall read: “After three violations of this policy, the senator will be up for impeachment.” Section 4: Upon approval from the senate, this bill will go into effect immediately.
