The course covers the concept of archives
classification systems, provides an
understanding of its principle methods
and general theories. It clarifies the
relationship between the classification
system and the principal of respect for the
creation of the document. It differentiates
between the classification system and the
arrangement, presents the different
classification systems with a focus on the
advantages and disadvantages of each of
them. Then focuses on the classification
systems, explaining the steps and the
different stages of preparation and how to
build it. How to update and amend the
classification
systems
terminology.
Finally, the course offers students a
practical training to practice what they
been taught in lectures.

Make students familiar with archives classification systems , how they are developed,
and they can be used
4. COURSE OBJECTIVES
-
Provide students with knowledge regarding the concept of archives
classification systems
Clarify the relationship between the classification systems and the
principle of respect for the creation of the document
Present the different classification systems of archives and highlight their
advantages and disadvantages
Focus on the digital archives classification system, explain the different
steps of its development, updating, and modifications.
Train students on how to use the digital archives classification system

9. COURSE RULES
Attendance
Attendance at class is mandatory. Course Instructors should keep attendance records.
An "absentee warning notice" will be issued if a student is absent for:
• More than 10% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 5% in courses with 75 or more total contact hours.
An "absentee withdrawal notice" will be issued and the student will be deemed to
have withdrawn from the course with an 'FW' grade if a student is absent for:
• More than 20% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 15% in courses with 75 to 150 total contact hours.
• More than 10% of total contact hours for courses with more than 150 total
contact hours.
