2. COURSE DESCRIPTION

ARABIC COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course provides general guidance with
respect to keeping the archives in the best
condition and protection to ensure their
security and safety, whether in the office
that is their place of origin and use or in the
Archives hall or in the Central Archive.

3. COURSE AIM
Raise awareness among students with regard to maintaining the integrity of the archives
in the long term and clarify the dangers to which archives can be exposed and how to
cope with them.
4. COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course aims to develop students' skills in the maintenance of archives in all
their forms and via various technical and chemical means
5. COURSE INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
It will help students to acquire a set of competencies for dealing with the
maintenance of archives via physical and chemical means and facilitating their
use by users

9. COURSE RULES
Attendance
Attendance at class is mandatory. Course Instructors should keep attendance records. An
"absentee warning notice" will be issued if a student is absent for:
• More than 10% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 5% in courses with 75 or more total contact hours.
An "absentee withdrawal notice" will be issued and the student will be deemed to have
withdrawn from the course with an 'FW' grade if a student is absent for:
• More than 20% in courses with less than 75 total contact hours.
• More than 15% in courses with 75 to 150 total contact hours.
• More than 10% of total contact hours for courses with more than 150 total
contact hours.
