College Central Network – Issues and Concerns None were raised but the topic will remain on the agenda for future meetings f. Oklahoma Research Day – Friday, November 13, 2009 at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma 4. Around the Table Buddy Odom, Dean, School of Business • The Business Building Academic Computer Laboratory is now open from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday • McArthur: Please be aware that the Shepler Center lab will be closed for the immediate future due to air-conditioning problems Sherry Young, Director, Library • Carpet installation is in progress and the librarians are pleased with the change. • Textbooks for the Check it Out books program are in high demand in the mornings, less so on Fridays, and Sundays are very busy • We discussed tracking usage in Lawton and in Duncan so that we can plan how many texts to purchase and for which courses in the future. Reza Kamali, Dean, School of Science and Technology • Retention is the major focus of the School of Science and Technology. He is meeting with each department for customized student plans for each faculty member Debbie Goode, Director, Information Technology Services • Test of the Emergency Communication System on Thursday, September 03, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. • Dell deployment is complete. Please provide feedback to ITS about how this worked. • Banner “dress rehearsal” is in process and will continue through next week. Susan Camp, Director, CU-Duncan • Enrollment at Duncan is up 28% with over 650 students. • Half of the adjuncts attended a recent workshop. The workshop was well done. • Lisa Wolfe will be providing a Blackboard training session at CU-Duncan • Please encourage ITV faculty to teach from Duncan on occasion.
