This meeting of the Council of Chairs will be used as a faculty listening session with the
architects of FSB for the creation of the updated Campus Master Plan. The agenda and
handouts below are intended to be self-contained. If you have questions or concerns
regarding any of the items, please arrange to discuss them with me or with the appropriate
dean.

1. Upcoming Events
a. Veterans Day Celebrations- 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., November 11, 2011 (Handout)
b. Faculty and Staff test of NetSupport for emergency notifications at 2:00 p.m. on
Friday, November 18, 2011
2. Communication – On Veterans Day, November 11, there will be a Minute of Silence at
1:00 p.m. until 1:01 p.m. Please let your instructional faculty members know about this
if they are teaching in that time slot. This is an important event to many of our students
and colleagues so I wish for us to make a significant effort to honor this moment of
silence during our courses and activities on Friday.
3. Communication -- Please make sure that our faculty are on campus and available for our
students during the final examination period particularly for online courses. We had
instances of test errors and proctoring concerns that were not resolved in a timely manner
because we could not reach the instructor of record to address the concerns during the
Spring 2011 final examination period.
4. 2012 Course Information Sheets and Syllabus Supplements have been posted to

5. Academic Calendar Summary 2011-12 (Handout) – Please note the remaining scheduling
variance for the Fall 2011 term on December 6, 2011.
6. Academic Calendar Summary 2012-13 (Handout) – Please note that we will be restricting
face-to-face course delivery formats for the 2012 – 2013 academic year rather than
continuing to reschedule entire days.
7. Advising Center Sign Up - To avoid or reduce the backlog of students awaiting
advisement, the Advising Center relies on faculty support for advising. The Advising
Center is in need of ten to 15 more faculty volunteers for the remainder of the fall term
and for January 3-13, 2012. Please contact Director JR Larsen at x6741 or
klarsen@cameron.edu to volunteer or for more information.
