Update from Sherry
Okay
November 16
1. ODS: Dawne and Kurt are administrators
a. Update: Much of the week was spent trying to
implement our model changes from 8.0 into the
8.1 model. All attempts failed. Paul is
suggesting we backtrack and use the original 8.0
model (without our changes). I sent him an email
Sunday asking if there was any reason we could
not go ahead with 8.1 instead. We are hoping for
a conference call with Paul Monday to get us
back on track. If we go with the original SGHE
model, we should be able to have everything
ready for report development very soon. As far
as we know, training for the 16th is still a 'go'.
Paul has not indicated which namespace on
which he plans to train. Whatever that might be,
it will certainly be first priority.
2. Nolij: Kelly is the administrator (Julie is helping with general
person)
a. Progress on transferring general person from legacy to
Banner
b. Update on transferring admission history
3. e-Print: Greg, Chase and Kurt are the administrators
Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line
1. Need to get the conference call with Paul set up quickly
to get these questions answered.
2. Demo with admissions tomorrow afternoon. Julie will
work on the General Person sync and if needs help it’s
possible the Nolij person contracted for Nov 30 might
could help or answer questions.
Regarding the general person sync, there is a duplicate
id in legacy that has lots of data in both student and HR.
Kurt will evaluate the information.
3. According to Greg we need to wait until we go live to see
what people need.
4. We’re supposed to have HigherOne integrated but it
doesn’t appear to be so. Rick is following through on this.
5. It appears that only ITS should be set up as users. Chase
or Angie will remove the power users from other teams.
The users will have to completely tested a process and
ensured that it works in Banner before it can be put in
AppWorx.
6. Training went well and the deceased workflow is almost
finished. A diagram for an HR workflow was started. Rick
will send his diagram to Juddson. The purchase

requisitions must be ready for go live. Financial Aid and
the Business Office need to meet to figure out what
needs to be done regarding the financial aid drop for
refunding federal money. Julie will work with Greg to see
how the luminis channels are going to work.
Starting to move design and channels into PROD in
preparation for the load testing next week. Carlos
finished the mid-tier implementation to PROD.
B. Greg is looking at payroll to see if an employee is

Sherry still trying to get Mike to load ODS and Cognos
into PROD
Had to get a cobol compiler for PROD and then Greg will

14. Cameron’s code tree for Banner ($CAMERON_HOME) on
dev-db01:
Keeping the directory structure similar to that of Banner’s
Code tree ($BANNER_HOME) will make the Banner
Upgrade process easier. That way if mods are made to
existing files in $BANNER_HOME we can identify the mod
easily in Cameron's Banner Code tree
($CAMERON_HOME).
What about naming of new files? How about keeping this
similar to the standard of what we have for IFAS except
change the module name so that they match Banners?
Where will files be stored?
Ex. rim = student
alumni
arsys
finaid
finance
general
payroll
posnctl
14. Programmers will have full access in development system
and Chase and Greg will roll to TEST and PROD
15. WF SQL Training Report
Naming Conventions – samples from Judson
Store all workflow objects in WFOBJECTS.
IT staff will be able to Create and Drop from WFOBJECTS

Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line
IT needs to revisit the naming conventions. Chase and Greg will
look at it and forward the info with recommendations. If you have
any suggestions send it to them. They should google and see if
there are any naming convention docs already there.
Read through the naming conventions and we’ll have to decide
upper or lowercase and discuss further.

Document procedures DBA uses to move code from TEST to
PROD.
PPRD to PROD
Inventory
SSB
Roles – associate users and roles. Determine CU roles.
DEVL – more access given - IT developers need to test
TEST – fix roles for users, remove IT role(s), users test.
PROD – move from TEST to PROD, roles should not have to
change.
15. Our understanding is that Admissions is under the
assumption that AID will continue to process awards in
Banner as they do in our current system. AID says
Admissions will be putting on their own exemptions in
Banner. The Business Office needs to let everyone know
what they need to do. IT needs to know if the non-resident
tuition status is being converted to a field that can be used for
awards. From Brenda’s email below, it sounds like no one
has discussed how this process is going to work. How
should we handle this?
16. Key Control System – Shawn will be using TMA’s
functionality.
17. Nothing will be done in PPRD after it’s cloned. Users can get
into PROD to make changes after the clone.
18. Training was done on fixed assets but it’s been awhile.
Inventory will have to be manual entry and reports will need to
be provided to the departments. Buildings and rooms have to
be updated and Dawne will need to teach Roger how to do
this before inventory is entered. Inventory reporting to the
state is done in August.
19. ILT team needs to make decisions on the Personal
Information tab on SSB.

Sherry will get a meeting together with the key individuals. This
process needs in place before March. Need to have a meeting
before Dec 1 to discuss possibility of using Workflow and figure
out how this will work.
All extracts looking at PPRD for validation purposes need
changed to PROD.
Julie will send the information to Debbie and she will take to ILT

Gather Blumen info and contact vendor to populate Blumen DB
from Banner.
ILT & Tech
Contacted references for Blumen. One of the references no longer
participates. The other two colleges sent glowing remarks about
Blumen. One of the colleges sent their mapping doc. Forwarded to
Kelly Simon, Linda Phillips, Doreen Thomas, Sherry Hendrix and
Dawne Massey. Not needed until Dec 2010. Currently these
students are flagged with a user-def field and Greg will send this to
Kelly to see if it’s already being rolled or we can roll it.
