ODS/Cognos Update: On hold pending a conference call
with Paul from TCC. There are apparently some problems
associated with Sungard package upgrades. Paul stated:
“Also… I’ve discovered something (this week) that may
have a huge impact on our package redesign (and not in a
good way). Stated short and sweet – renaming data items
in the SunGard delivered model creates huge overhead on
an upgrade.” Kurt and Dawne are very concerned about
this. Hopefully Paul will shed some light on the situation for
us this week.
Nolij is scheduled to start the online Banner application
interface 11/30/09. End user training with online applications
are planned for Dec. ’09. ACT & EOS tape load for
recruiters are planned for Jan. ‘10
Sherry is working on the reports doc. This may be matched
against the Cognos licensing to ensure all users will
continue to have access to required reports.
Waiting on response from Ninette for the p.o. form.
HigherOne process needs to be activated. Transcripts will
need to be completed in Mar – Apr ’10 timeframe for late
August go live.

users for training in S Shep 407. It was suggested we need
to take down JInitiator and use Java plug-ins. Oracle no
longer supports JInitiator. ILT needs to tell users to contact
HD for assistance when they have unsuccessful attempts
with JIniator and should install Java plug-ins. Sherry will test
steps.
Completed SQL training last week (10/20-10/23). Sherry will
find out the number of hours Judson proposes for WF tasks.
ILT must establish procedural steps for creating workflows.

14. Cameron’s code tree for Banner ($CAMERON_HOME) on
dev-db01:
Keeping the directory structure similar to that of Banner’s
Code tree ($BANNER_HOME) will make the Banner
Upgrade process easier. That way if mods are made to
existing files in $BANNER_HOME we can identify the mod
easily in Cameron's Banner Code tree
($CAMERON_HOME).
What about naming of new files? How about keeping this
similar to the standard of what we have for IFAS except
change the module name so that they match Banners?
Ex. rim = student
alumni
arsys
finaid
finance
general
payroll
posnctl

Naming Conventions – samples from Judson???
Has this been decided - Store all workflow objects in
WFOBJECTS.
Yes, DBA approves
Ask that IT staff be able to Create and Drop from
WFOBJECTS
Yes, DBA approves and can allow functionality
DBA to create a process to move code from TEST to PROD.
Auditors will ask how this is done.
Roles – associate users and roles. Determine CU roles.
DEVL – more access given - IT developers need to test
TEST – fix roles for users, remove IT role(s), users test.
PROD – move from TEST to PROD, roles should not have to
change.
15. # of forms opened in GUAINST set to 4 in TEST and PPRD discussion

Data cleanup - ongoing process
This will be suggested to ILT and implemented 10/21/09 after ILT
meeting.
This will shut down everything except for the dorm and village
residents and video conferencing. Card swipe system might be
affected as well. The data is stored in the reader in the event of
network issues, but we should have a contingency plan for
housing and OPS to be ‘on call’ in case the readers do not hold
the data. Cash register data is supposed to be stored until the
network is available and it is uploaded after connectivity is
restored. As a contingency plan, a list will need to be prepared for
Sodexo. Wireless will also be down. Best case scenario for
downtime is 30 minutes to an hour and worst case, several hours.
