FINLAND: CROSS-CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES
ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Spring 2016
Tour Dates: March 10-19, 2016
This interdisciplinary course open to all majors is designed to provide
students with an overview of human development (children, adolescents
and adults) across the lifespan through a cross-cultural comparison
between the United States and Finland. Our focus will be on comparative
developmental psychology in children, adolescents, and adults with areas
of emphasis in behavior, language, thought, emotions, and education.
During our time in Finland, we will have many opportunities to directly
examine and compare human development across a number of these
dimensions in settings that range from the formal to the informal (e.g.,
schools to sporting events).
