2014 ART EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
MTSU DEPARTMENT OF ART
ELIGIBILITY
The Hester Rogers Ray Memorial Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors
currently enrolled as Art Education majors at Middle Tennessee State
University. Applicants must successfully maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in
the major.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit the following materials:
• Application Form (page 2)
• A current unofficial transcript (available from Registrar’s Office)
• A narrative (approximately 500 words) describing how you demonstrate
commitment, dedication, compassion, and competence in the field of
Art Education
• A portfolio containing quality examples of your own artwork and an
original K-12 lesson plan
DESCRIPTION
Applicants must exhibit an interest in pursuing a career in the field of Art
Education. Student must have completed ART 2200: Introduction to Art
Education. Preference may be given to those who are contributing student
members of the National Art Education Association and Tennessee Art
Education Association.

Turn in your application, portfolio, and supporting materials to:

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
