1. Call to order
2. Review Minutes from March –approved unanimously
3. New proposals
A. BIOL – inactivating 9 courses –approved unanimously
Dr. Andrew Brower asked to discuss the tabled proposal for Bio 4780/6780 cross listing.
There was further discussion, but since the committee had not had a chance to recently
review the proposal, there was confusion about it. The committee left the proposal
tabled.
B. CIM – New course proposal: CIM 4700 – Global Concrete Production and Construction
Technologies –approved unanimously
C. ENGR – Prerequisite changes: ENGR 2110, ENGR 2120 –approved unanimously
D. GEOS – all approved unanimously
-Earth Sciences Career Path – Change PGEO 1030 to MATH 1530, specify 17
hours of electives, specify electives must be approved.
- Geology Career Path –
1st cognate: MATH 1920 or MATH 1530 or MATH 2050, change
math/science elective from 4 to 3-4, advisor approved
2nd cognate: Geosciences elective is mentor approved, field camp is chair
approved.
E. Mil. Sci. – Title change of minor to Military Science and Applied Leadership –
approved unanimously
F. MSE – all approved unanimously
- New Course Proposals
- MSE 7845 – Nature of Mathematics and Science
- MSE 7848 – Knowledge for Teaching in Mathematics and Science
- Revision to Program Core
4. Discussion of suggested committee guidelines. Edits were made, and the final version will be
sent to the committee through email, then sent to Dean Fischer to give to the next committee
chair.
