UCL Advances Website Design Brief Context UCL Advances is UCL’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Interaction. UCL Advances helps anyone that wants to learn about business, start a business or grow a business through training, networking and support activities. We currently have a website www.ucl.ac.uk/advances that has been in it’s current form for two years. We have recently undertaken usability testing with participants from all our audience types (students, start-‐up founders, SME owners and researchers). The resulting website optimisation report has highlighted the requirement for a new site architecture and design. Project Requirements Deliverables: – – – Review of existing content New site architecture Design concepts for homepage and sub pages The new site should be: – – – Clear about who we are Clear about what we do and how we can help Clear that we are open to anyone who wants to learn about, start or grow a business The design should be: – – Clean and clutter free Have an architecture based on user goals and providing solutions There are some restrictions on the website design as it needs to conform to the UCL corporate identity (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/corporate-‐identity) and the UCL corporate identity web template (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/corporate-‐identity/webpages/gallery) and will ultimately be built in house within the Silva CMS. The design must incorporate both UCL and UCL Advances branding. Both the website optimisation report and the outcomes from a UCL Advances website team brainstorming session will be available to the company selected to undertake the project. Timescale Proposals should outline costs and project plan and should be submitted by 5pm on the 11th January 2013 with the opportunity to present initial design ideas on the 21st January for selected companies.
