Dr. Clarence Talley, Sr. Receives Merit Award Dr. Clarence Talley, Sr. Professor/Director of Art in the School of Architecture (Dr. Ikhlas Sabouni, Dean) received the Roanne H. Victor Merit Award at the 22nd African American Art Exhibition held at the Actor Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky January 5 – February 21, 2016. Dr. Talley’s work title “7053” depicts Rosa Parks’ defiant pose as seen in her arrest poster. Dr. Talley stated: “7053” was meant to show Mrs. Parks as a symbol of strength and defiance and also serve as motivation to thousands to do what they believe to be right.”
