Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity was charged with the following violations of MTSU rules: Conduct Dangerous to Self or Others. Any conduct which constitutes a danger to any person's health, safety, or personal well being including but not limited to physical and/or verbal abuse; threats and/or intimidation; harassment of any kind; or harm inflicted on self. (p. 5, MTSU Rights and Responsibilities, 2010-2011.) Disorderly Conduct. Any individual or group behavior which is abusive, obscene, lewd, indecent, violent, excessively noisy, disorderly, or which unreasonably disturbs other groups or individuals. (p. 5, MTSU Rights and Responsibilities, 2010-2011.) Obstruction of or Interference with Institutional Activities or Facilities. Any interference with or obstruction of any institutional activity, program, event, or facilities. (p. 5, MTSU Rights and Responsibilities, 2010-2011.) The Committee found you responsible for the above referenced charges. The Committee recommended the following sanctions: Suspension-Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity is suspended for three years, effective immediately. The suspension includes non-recognition by the University, A Tennessee MTSU is an equal opportunity, ••.. <- non-racially idantifiabla, Board of Regents University educational institution that doas not discriminata against individuals with disabilities. prohibition from occupying the house, and prohibition from participation in any school organization activities. After the three year suspension, Pi Kappa Alpha National organization may apply for reinstatement. If reinstated, the organization will be on probation for two years. If there is any probation violation during the two years, the organization will be permanently expelled from the University. Failure to abide by these sanctions will result in further disciplinary action being taken against the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. This will advise that based on my review of the record, I feel it is appropriate for me to approve the recommendations of the Committee in this matter. Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity has the right to appeal my decision to the Student Appeals Committee. An appeal must be submitted in writing to the Office of the Assistant Dean for Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services within forty-eight (48) hours of your receipt of this communication affirming the recommendations of the University Discipline Committee.
