Milner selected for VP position at Cameron
Cameron University President Cindy Ross announced today that Robert Milner has been selected as Vice
President for University Advancement following a national search.
The Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University
approved Milner’s appointment during its monthly meeting last week in Claremore. Milner will assume his
role as vice president effective Oct. 3.
“Mr. Milner brings a wealth of expertise to the University Advancement office,” Ross said. “With more than
30 years of experience in management and leadership positions, he is a tremendous addition to Cameron
University. He will play a vital role as we continue to build a legacy of excellence. I am proud to welcome
Mr. Milner to Cameron University.”
Milner spent 7 years as a commissioned officer in the Army, including assignments at Fort Sill. Milner
earned the rank of Captain before moving into the private sector.
Following his military career, Milner served in an administrative capacity with Public Service Company of
Oklahoma (PSO) for 22 years.
During more than two decades with PSO, Milner led numerous divisions within the company. His
management responsibilities included organizational staffing, customer and community relations, business
development and system acquisitions. He also served as a legislative and regulatory liaison.

firm focused on business development and governmental affairs within the utility industry.
Milner, who has a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from Westminster College in Missouri,
has also been highly active in the Lawton-Fort Sill community, serving in leadership positions for several
service organizations.
He is a past president for the Lawton Rotary Club, the Lawton-Fort Sill United Way, the Fort Sill Chapter of
the Association of the United States Army, a past Chairman of the Governmental and Legislative Affairs
with the Lawton Chamber of Commerce and has served as a mentor with Leadership Lawton.
“Mr. Milner’s experiences have prepared him for the many duties required of Cameron’s chief development
officer,” Ross said. “He possesses a deep knowledge of the Lawton-Fort Sill community and Southwest
Oklahoma, and has provided successful leadership for many organizations.”
As Vice President for University Advancement, Milner will oversee three of Cameron’s key administrative
units, including Government and Community Relations, Cameron’s public relations entity, Alumni Relations
and the Office of Development, which provides leadership in raising private funds. Milner will also act as
liaison to the Cameron University Foundation.
“I am honored and humbled to have been selected as Cameron University’s Vice President for University
Advancement,” Milner said. “Cameron has a rich tradition of educational excellence and community
involvement that extends to the very early days of Lawton-Fort Sill. It is my desire to continue to strengthen
the bond between Cameron, the local community, Southwest Oklahoma and the entire state of Oklahoma.”
