Cameron continues ‘Gold Rush’ enrollment days
“Gold Rush,” Cameron University’s enrollment program for Fall 2005 freshmen, will continue this month on
Thursday, June 23, at the University Theatre on CU’s main campus in Lawton. This will be the third “Gold
Rush” day of the summer with several more remaining.
During each “Gold Rush” day, incoming freshmen learn the realities of university life, including timemanagement skills, financial responsibility, and successful social and academic integration. CU’s “Aggie
Ambassadors” conduct portions of the program and share their experiences in adapting to campus life.
In the afternoon, students meet with their academic advisors and enroll in classes for the fall. Each “Gold
Rush” day includes a special session for parents from 1-2 p.m. during which members of CU’s Enrollment
Management and Student Services staff explain how the university partners with parents to assure student
success.
The remaining “Gold Rush” dates are Thursday, June 23; Wednesday, July 6; Wednesday, July 27;
Saturday, July 30; and Thursday, Aug. 18.
Registration for each session begins at 8 a.m. in the University Theatre. Reservations are required since
seating is limited to 200 students per session. Reservations can be made by calling 580/581-2230 during
regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Fall classes begin at the university on Aug. 22.
