‘Rock Your Voice’ seeks to lure new voters
“Rock Your Voice,” a free rock concert and voter registration drive, comes to Lawton Thursday, April 15, at
the Clarence L. Davis Student Union on the campus of Cameron University.
The concert features live performances from rock bands “Someday,” “Open Case” and “Zest of Yore.”
Participants can register to vote and get volunteer information from local civic and service organizations.
The event is open to music lovers of all ages.
The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. with the rock trio “Open Case,” comprised of Cameron students Clint Reid, a
junior graphics design major from Frederick on vocals and guitars; Doug McAbee, a senior graphics
design major from Frederick on percussion; and bass guitarist/vocalist Nathan Hill, a senior computer
science major from Anadarko.
“Someday” will take the stage at 8 p.m. Hailing from Edmond, “Someday” recently opened for Kung Fu
Records recording artist “Ozma” and will be featured on a Radioboys Records compilation in the future.
“Zest of Yore,” from Denton, Texas, will take the stage at 9 p.m. Two members of the band, Stephen
Pierce and John McCain, are originally from Lawton and attended CU. The band, which recently appeared
on a Dallas morning television show, has a progressive, indie rock sound.
Door prizes from the bands will be given out during the show.
