For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, Feb. 4, 2004 Red River Career Expo expected to attract job seekers from across Oklahoma, Texas Job seekers will have a chance to check out dozens of employment opportunities in a single day, thanks to a cooperative effort by a group of higher education and military installations. Cameron University and Fort Sill in Lawton have teamed Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, Vernon (Texas) Regional Junior College, Altus Air Force Base and Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, to sponsor the 2004 Red River Career Expo on Friday, Feb. 20. The annual event will bring more than 65 employers together in a one convenient location, the Wichita Falls Multipurpose Events Center, at 1000 5th Street in Wichita Falls, from 1-5:30 p.m. In previous years, the expo has attracted nearly 3,000 job seekers. "The Career Expo is an excellent opportunity to explore new career fields, develop and make contacts with employers, and to secure leads on prospective job opportunities," said Jennifer Holland, CU Director of Student Development. Among the employers already planning to participate in this edition of the expo are several Fortune 500 companies, as well as department stores, state governments, food service industries, schools, transportation specialists, technology firms, aerospace companies, the military, corrections, members of the media, law enforcement and healthcare firms.
