2014-2015 - 1st Destination Survey Results Bill Fletcher, Director & Michael Dowd, Survey Assistant Career Development Center Overview The 2014-2015 1st Destination Survey Report combines the responses from August 2014, December 2014 and May 2015 into one annual report. The overall response rate is 19.4%, down from 21.0% the previous year. Survey Administration Three email surveys were sent using Emma Email Marketing. The first survey was to the list of students who had applied for graduation with the Registrar’s Office. The second and third surveys were sent to students on the Registrar’s official list of graduates. Surveys were sent to the graduate’s primary and secondary email addresses. The survey was open on the 1DS website for three months. Please note the following when using this data: 1. Respondents to the first survey who do not graduate are not removed from the results. 2. Students self-report their degree and major. Students frequently list their major incorrectly so the results may not match Banner. 3. Students completing the survey more than once in the 3-month survey period are counted only once using their most recent time-stamped entry on the survey. 4. If a student has more than one major, they are counted for each major, not once. Thus, the response rate is based on number of majors, not number of students. Combined, this represents a 19.4% response rate. (Note: this is a count of majors; actual number of students is slightly less due to some students having dual majors). The rest of this report provides the results broken out by bachelor degrees then by graduate degrees. 2014-2015 1DS Page 2 of 23 Bachelor Major Results The chart below represents the percentage of the 761 bachelor degree responses coming from each college. 44 264 16.7% 76 359 21.2% 135 711 19.0% 29 177 16.4% 70 337 20.8% 66 510 12.9% 165 964 17.1% 22 0 17 94 2 101 23.4% 0.0% 16.8% 48 41 52 227 52 226 21.1% 78.8% 23.0% 43 40 54 270 105 317 15.9% 38.1% 17.0% 113 81 123 591 159 644 19.1% 50.9% 19.1% 7 74 9.5% 24 164 14.6% 30 226 13.8% 61 464 13.1% 12 81 14.8% 34 171 19.9% 37 216 17.1% 83 468 17.7% 102 617 16.5% 313 1,441 21.7% 346 2,003 17.3% 761 4,061 18.7% Total Response Rate May Bachelor Majors Total Bachelor Majors May Responses 17.0% Total Responses December Response Rate 88 December Bachelor Majors December Responses 15 August Bachelor Majors August Response Rate Basic & Applied Sciences Behavioral & Health Sciences Business Education Liberal Arts Mass Communication University College Total Bachelor Majors August Responses College May Response Rate The chart below represents the response rate by college based upon the number of bachelor degree majors awarded by each college. 2014-2015 1DS Page 3 of 23 This chart represents the primary plans for the upcoming year for bachelor degree recipients.
