Changes have been made in the procedure to follow.
1.
PURPOSE
To inform the CCR System Dispatcher about power system stabilizers (PSS) that are out of
service or defective at Churchill Falls generating station (G.S.).
2.
COMPLIANCE
This procedure complies with NERC Reliability Standards VAR-001-1 (R6 and R6.1),
IRO-005-2 (R1.1) and VAR-002-1 (R1, R3, R3.1 and R3.2).
3.
PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW
The operator at Churchill Falls shall notify the CCR 1 System Dispatcher of the condition of
the PSSs.
If a PSS is out of service or defective, the Churchill Falls G.S. operator shall notify the CCR
System Dispatcher of the situation, as soon as practical, but within 30 minutes.
The Churchill Falls G.S. operator shall inform the CCR System Dispatcher on the expected
duration of the change in status.
The CCR System Dispatcher shall then log this information in the appropriate system.
When notified of the loss of an automatic voltage regulator control, the CCR System
Dispatcher may direct the Generator Operator to maintain or change either its voltage or
Reactive Power output in order to maintain System voltage within limits.
