The CFC will work to improve continuously teaching and learning at WCU by
 Learning and disseminating innovative teaching and learning practices
 Bridging gaps between faculty and other campus units
 Using existing technologies in innovative ways
 Introducing innovative technologies and technological advances to
campus
To achieve our mission, the CFC will
 Offer instructional design services designed to promote efficient, effective
teaching
 Proactively identify tools and processes that will support excellent teaching
and learning
 Encourage use of technology-enhanced teaching to provide an excellent
learning experience
 Be responsive to needs as they appear
 Research and promote innovative practices
 Facilitate faculty-to-faculty interactions around issues of importance
 Model effective communication

 Instructional Design Team:
 Programs and departments can work with a team of experts in LMS, pedagogy,
technology, and educational resources
 Instructors are not required to use the template/s
 Instructors populate the courses with their materials and content
 Courses built for specific programs and departments
 Look and feel will remain consistent across program or department
 Instructors who use templates will not need to build courses from scratch
 Templates rise to Quality Matters standards.
