Student Campus Personal Laptop Printing Instructions

Students printing from personal laptops will need to log onto vDesk (vdesk.pugetsound.edu) with their Puget Sound username and password and install the Citrix receiver. Each student receives 750 free prints at the start of every semester.

Each page printed will be deducted from your allocation of 750 prints. Leftover credits will not be rolled over . To locate proximity printers on vDesk select the Printers icon.

Open a program (i.e. Word, Foxit Reader)

Select File > Print

Choose printer from Printer list

Network Storage: Work done on vDesk can be saved locally, but the default location is your personal sharedrive. Each student gets 4GB of network storage for storing and backing up university-related files. Learn how to map your personal network storage onto your personal computer and where to access your share drive on the pugetsound.edu/stutech page.

Wi-Fi: Absolutely no personal routers will be allowed on Puget Sound’s private network. Report any Wi-Fi issues to the

Service Desk for support.

Password Support : If you have forgotten your username or password, click the Password

Help link on the myPugetSound page (my.pugetsound.edu). Your password will lock after multiple incorrect attempts. NEVER SHARE YOUR PASSWORD!

 vDesk: Puget Sound's virtual desktop, vDesk, provides anytime, anywhere access to a wide range of software and tools, including Microsoft Office and discipline-specific applications such as Mathematica and SPSS.

Color Printing: Visit Print & Copy Services in the house located next to Diversions café for your color printing needs.

Scanners: Located on the first floor of the library and in the Tech Center.

Tech Center : Media Services, with equipment rentals, and the Student Support Help Desk are located in the Tech Center.

The Tech Center also contains dual boot Macs with digital media software.
