THREE NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO
RAMAPO COLLEGE FOUNDATION’S BOARD OF GOVERNORS
MAHWAH – The Ramapo College Foundation chairman, Robert Tillsley, recently
announced the appointment of Patricia Davino, a banking executive, Wayne E.
Orchowski, an automotive industry professional and Carol D. Schaefer, A.C.S.W., a
retired psychotherapist, to its Board of Governors. The appointees will help fulfill the
Foundation’s mission to “provide the resources that make the difference in Ramapo
College’s quest for educational excellence.” All three were appointed to three-year
terms.
Patricia Davino is vice president/branch sales manager for Valley National Bank,
managing the corporate office. She’s also held positions with Interchange Bank and
Midland Bank. Her philanthropic interests include serving as vice chair of St. Joseph’s
Wayne Hospital Foundation and leadership positions with Rotary International and the
Tri- County Chamber of Commerce. She lives in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.
Wayne E. Orchowski is vice president of the eastern region of BMW of North America,
LLC where he is responsible for leadership of all sales, marketing, post sales and dealer
development in the region. He has been with BMW for 24 years serving in various
locations and managerial positions. Orchowski has served as a company liaison with
Spelman College’s Corporate Partners Program and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation. He lives in Cornwall, New York.

-2Until her retirement in 2006, Carol D. Schaefer maintained a private psychotherapy
practice in Ridgewood, New Jersey specializing in individual, couples, adolescents and
family counseling. She is a clinical supervisor and instructor at the Yale Child Study
Center, Yale Medical School. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Hackensack
University Medical Center, as secretary of the Board of Directors of the American Skin
Association, chairman of the New York Philharmonic Patron’s Tour and co-president of
the Board of Directors of The Little Orchestra Society, among other philanthropic
activities. In 1998, Schaefer received Ramapo College’s President’s Award of Merit.
She resides in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
“We are most fortunate to have the leadership and commitment of Carol, Patricia and
Wayne on our Board of Governors,” said Cathleen Davey, executive director of the
Ramapo College Foundation. “They will certainly advance our strategic goals and
enhance our partnerships with members and businesses in the community.”
Members of the Board of Governors act as ambassadors for the College and the
Foundation, actively participate on committees and ensure the Foundation’s legal,
financial and ethical integrity. They also support Foundation events including the
Distinguished Citizens Dinner, Annual Golf Outing and the Performing Arts Dinner
Series. Proceeds from these events help to fund student scholarships, faculty research
and College projects.
