CAHS-‐CEP Auditorium Abstract In May 2010, the Ewing Halsell Foundation granted funds to the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment and the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies to develop a novel experiential, technology-‐enhanced educational curricula for middle and high school students and educators focused on water science from molecules to ecosystems, and headwaters to ocean (http://water-‐texas.org ). Other partners soon joined, including Texas Parks and Wildlife and a National Science Foundation funded network of over 10 university research institutes in Texas. Through this partnership, which has since become known simply as H2O, the water education curriculum Texas Aquatic Science was born. Rising rapidly to the very top of internet search results for aquatic science curricula, H2O’s Texas Aquatic Science (http://texasaquaticscience.org) is now the number one source of information on the internet for aquatic science education and information, including an aquatic science textbook, videos, activities, curriculum, images, certified field sites for students, and more. This presentation describes the journey to build this comprehensive pathway for water education in Texas. Contact:
