Mission Statement
The Physical Education Teacher Education faculty , fully support the
university's commitment to teacher education as a university-wide
responsibility to prepare teachers to be reflective, responsible
decision makers in a global and diverse democratic society. To this
end, our mission is to prepare dynamic professionals who are
reflective teachers and lifelong learners.
The professional development of our undergraduate students is
accomplished through a challenging, relevant physical education
teacher education program based upon the principles of best
practice and the pedagogical content knowledge required to be
effective teachers dedicated to a basic philosophy that successful
participation in physical activity is the essential foundation upon
which healthy, active lifestyles are built. 9/08/06
