benign and malignant haematology. 4th registrar application in view of increased workload
and need both for adequate cover and time for teaching and projects.

Clinical Research Nurses: 6 dedicated to haematology. Also have autograft/survivorship
co-ordinator, allograft co-ordinator, data manager, nurse counsellor
Clinical Haematology Scope: exposure to the complete spectrum of adult malignant haematology,
and transplantation (autografting, and allografting ), thrombosis and haemostasis (not much haemophilia).
as well as the spectrum of referrals from a large teaching hospital, including liver transplant /complex
hepatology, some obstetrics.
Inpatient service is located in a 32 bed inpatient ward at the ONJCWC.
Clinical trial programme has expanded to cover the spectrum of common haematological malignancies
such as AML, CML, CLL, HL, myeloma, indolent and aggressive NHL etc., with a focus on novel
immunotherapy agents in lymphoma under the auspices of the Austin Lymphoma service
There is a close relationship between the clinical and laboratory registrars.

one paper, either from within the Austin alone or as part of the IMPACT consortium of
which Austin is an active participant.

active trials covering a wide range of diseases. Patients on studies comprise ~20% of clinic appts.
